Woooo Hooo ~ I'm back!!!

Yaaay! I wanted to get on here and breathe a sigh of relief that my computer is fixed. ...for now. Whew, that was agonizing! I didn't really realize how dependant I am on this stupid thing. I remember when.... You know how the rest goes! LOL Now I have a phone with internet too! Wow, times have changed!

Well, I had an aniversary (11 yrs. - Woooo Hoooo!) and a birthday (we won't mention which one...) last week. It was waaaaay fun and I got something that has been on my wish list for a while now. A new Canon T1i! Yep, I am a proud owner of a dslr.

Now if I could just figure out all of the settings. I have been playing around w/it and am totally in love. :) I haven't uploaded any pictures to share yet, as I just got it a few days ago. I will do that soon, I promise. No pictures to share today because my hubby wiped the computer clean....none to choose from. I have to upload all of my stuff back on here. I have some stinkin cute stuff to share w/y'all so be sure to check back. Thank you all for visiting and I'm so glad to be back! Hugs ~Cheri

On FIRE for Jesus!

Well, yes, she finally returned from camp a totally renewed young lady! Like I mentioned before, this was the first overnight camp that she has been to and didn't want to go. Of course, when it was time to come home, she wanted to stay longer! lol The first thing on the list of things to do was to get a decent meal. The cafeteria food wasn't that good....I guess it never is. And then I had to go to Lifeway Christian bookstore and pick up a few things. Like; a new 'teen' bible (since the one she had was a bit on the little girl side), and a few daily devotionals (one for her, one for me, and one as a gift).

She really likes it and is so far reading every day. I am so impressed by her each and every day. She has changed so much this year and even though it has been hard (WOW!...What an understatement!!!) I am so loving the new and improved 'her'. Good night for now and thanks so much for stopping by to listen to my blubbering! LOL ~Hugs, Cheri

Away at Youth Camp...

A little anxious today. My daughter went off to youth camp for the first time yesterday morning. She can't use her phone except as an alarm clock. I am missing her already and it doesn't help that we just watched the movie An American Crime last night. It was a good movie, a little off with the facts, but very disturbing...not for the faint of heart. And not the right movie to watch, when your 'baby' is with people that we casually know through church. I have been the one reasuring my hubby about the whole camp thing and now I am having doubts too.

I know she is totally going to have a ton of fun! And my worrying is unnecessary. Growing pains are not fun!!! I am praying that she will come back from this retreat renewed in her faith and on fire for Jesus! I need to get her something when she comes back. Maybe something from James Avery. We are off to see a movie! Hugs!!! Cheri

Wow, I'm so excited to be recognized with all of the other super talented ladies receiving this award! I don't really feel like a deserving recipiant. However, I will try really hard to live up to it! I really appreciate all of the friends that I have made here and am inspired everyday by all of your creations! I recieved this award from the awsome MLTD!

Pretty is as Pretty does!

It seems that Saturday's are the only days I have time to post lately. I really enjoy viewing all of the other wonderful blogs I subscribe to, but currently I am a little 'stuck' with my scrapping. I am starting to feel like I am hording my stash! LOL!!! I have received the April AND May Unity Kits of the Month and haven't used a single stamp yet!!! I think maybe I am just a bit intimidated due to all of the wonderfully creative girlies out there. I feel that maybe my 'stuff' just won't measure up.....stupid, I know! I have got to just dig in and do it! I know it will turn out fine, but I'm a newbe with all of the stamping and coloring thing. Card making doesn't seem as easy as scrapbooking! Do I use pencil? Or copics? How much layering is good? A little or alot? Insecurity isn't my best atribute.

So I dove into a layout that I started a couple of months ago and couldn't figure out how to finish. I really love how it turned out! I'll have to force myself to make a card and post it this weekend. Please come back to give me some feedback on what you think...and be honest. :) Any tips will certainly be appreciated! Thanks for visiting!!! Many blessings for a beautiful weekend! ~Cheri

Heritage layout and some roses!

I have been wanting to scrap this page for soooo long, but just couldn't decide on what paper and materials fit best. I had picked a few papers and I called Lauren in to help me decide. She thought this paper from K&co. Urban Rhapsody was the perfect fit, and I have to agree. I used so many different products on this that it almost made me dizzy! But, hey, that is what it's all about! I just love how it turned out!!! Thanks for looking! Blessings~Cheri

Wow! This has been a busy week! I have been running like crazy with field trips, school assemblies and birthday parties. I have been a little artistically (is that a word?) challenged as of late! Anyway, I had to grab my camera one morning and snap some pictures of my climbing rose that is on the side of my garage. I got it last year and it bloomed, but I failed to get any pictures. These roses are so fragrant and sweet. I just love 'em!!!

Boo Kitty and a kitchen chair

Just a little post for now until I get a few pictures taken of the crafty things I've been throwing together. I'll have to post those after we go to the movies to see Angels and Demons and Terminator Salvation. Yes...I know...you can tell my hubby picked out these movies! But, we haven't been to the theater in a while and I, being the sweet wife that I am, let him pick this time. Especially since he watched Calendar Girls in bed with me this morning, as we were being lazy. It was a little rainy , so we started our holiday weekend off very slow. It was great!!! :)

Love this picture of the sweetest kitty baby named Boo (we named her after Monster's Inc.). She is sitting on my favorite kitchen chair that is also a step ladder. My mom picked this up for me in Austin and gave it to me a few years ago. A little rusty and worn but I love it that way!!! Hope you all have a relaxed and blessed Memorial Day weekend!!! Thanks for looking!

Aristocats glamed up!

I loved this book, but the pages were water damaged. So I tore them out and thought I could use the cover for a project. Not really sure where, but I think I saw a repurposed Dr. Seuss book somewhere. I swirled and pearled the cover and added some coordinating flowers and crystals. Then took some chip board from cereal boxes and cut them to make the pages. A mixture of Basic Gray and Love Elsie paper and die cut embelishments from Fancy Pants, MME, and K&co jazz it up. Still need to ad some more emblishments to the last few pages, but I am definately going to do this again!!! I really love using repurposed items and making something beautiful out of something my husband told me "would you just throw this away, please!??". He just doesn't get it sometimes. lol

Hope you all had a wonderfully blessed day! Thanks for looking!!!

its knarrly dudde and i love it !

I let my daughter write the title & of course she wrote it like she was posting something on her myspace. I was looking over her shoulder saying, um...that's not how you spell that. She turned and says, 'it looks cool like this, i don't care how you spell it'. And she's right, it does look cool like that and sometimes it doesn't matter how you spell it. (get over it perfectionist!!!) She continues to teach me! LOL Since she was two she was telling me how it really is! AMAZING~This motherhood thing!!!
This was a super fun project!!! I taught my dd how to decoupage and we had a blast. She really loved this paper from Love Elsie and KI so it was a perfect fit! We also used some dictionary paper, Ranger Stickles, Modge Podge, Perfect Pearls and Glossy Accents on a few of the letters to make them stand out a little more. This is her new jewelry box. Just need to ad a little something to the inside to finish it off. Good night and God bless you all!!!

Cards for my Mothers...

I know it has been a while since my last post, but I am putting posting into my routine and making time for it from now on. Thank you all for your wonderful comments!!! I really enjoy reading them and visiting all of your blogs. Here are a few cards that I have finished and mailed off to my three Moms. (real, step, and in law) :)
I recently purchased a cuttlebug on sale and LOVE it! As you can see that is what I used on the background of these cards. A little obsessed with it right now, but I'm sure that will fade some with time. lol I will be posting some other projects I have been working on either tonight or tomorrow morning. Blessings and Happy Mother's Day to all of you!
Products used:
Love Elsie and MME; paper

Treasure boxes

Yes, I am still alive. Sorry for the long gap between posts. I started a new job right before the Holidays and it has been a little hectic getting back into the swing of the whole routine/schedule thing. Anyway, here are a few projects I managed to create and give as gifts to family this year. I love the way the 'treasure boxes' turned out. It was so much fun and really quick to put together too!

Thank you all so much for visiting and commenting. It really means a lot. All the best to you and yours! God Bless! :)
